Thermal imaging cameras are the creme de la creme of the ghost research tools. They scan thermal radiation showing things that an investigator could not see with the naked eye. Thermal imagers are the most expensive tool in the investigators arsenal.
Some theories suggest that ghosts leave cold spots when they are trying to appear or use energies to manipulate our world. Other theories suggest that some demons and evil entities exert heat when trying to manipulate our world. With the themral imaging camera, it is possible to capture these cold and hot spots as well as see items that might have been touched by an unseen force.
Most thermal imaging cameras have computer interfaces and relay data and video straight to the computer. They also measure ambient, and surface temperatures of items in the environment. More expensive imagers can even record different light spectrums that ghosts are allegedly known to be seen.
Most ghost investigation and research groups can only dream to own a thermal imager, as the high price keeps them out of reach by most research groups whose funding comes strictly from their own pockets.
