Prelude
The term investigator in this report refers to anyone that is a member
of the Ghost Hunters of the South paranormal research team. The term
attendee in this report refers to anyone at the investigation that is
not a member of the Ghost Hunters of the South paranormal research team.

Reported Activity and History
The location manager wished to have anonymity but gave permission to
change names and place on the web.
This investigation covered a Public Facility (former elementary school)
in North Mobile, Alabama. The location was supposedly haunted by several
small children spirits believed to have been attendees of the location
during it’s time of commission. The children were also supposed to of
been the same ones who got killed in a car accident right in front of
the building. The names of the children were unknown by the location
manager.
The location manager reported to have seen out of the corner of his eye
shadows flirting down the hall and darting from room to room. He also
reported that several times he would hear sounds of children’s laughter
in the building.
He first started to think that the neighborhood kids had managed to find
a way into the building to play, but upon his search of the area, wasn’t
able to find any children present. This happened on more than one
occasion.
There were also reports of hearing people entering the bathroom and no
one being present when investigated.
Preliminary Findings & Hypothesis
This is an older building built in the 1930’s
probably has unshielded wiring and extremely high electric and magnetic
fields.
Baseline Readings
Outside Humidity: 65%
Outside Temp: 85 degrees F
Climate: Clear
LST: 03:15
Research done by James P. Spottiswoode suggests that
there are higher incidences of paranormal activity at the 1300 hr LST
then at any other time.
Planetary K Index: 4 Kp (K-indices of 5 or greater
indicate storm-level geomagnetic activity.)
Geomagnetic: 100nT
Scientific research done thus far shows there is a
direct correlation between paranormal activity and the strength of the
of the earths geomagnetic field.
During our EMF sweep we noticed one area of concern that was constant.
There was no variation throughout the entire room and was one of the
rooms where alleged paranormal activity was witnessed. The areas of
concern are emboldened in red below.

Average temperature per room showed no large
fluctuations in temperature. Average temperature was 77.23 degrees F.
Resonant Frequency Analysis
Rooms were measured and calculated for resonant frequency. Due to the
size of the rooms and objects within the room the resonant frequency was
not a concern. Calculations showed that resonance fell well within
acceptable limits.
With the infrasound threshold being around 140dB at 20Hz increasing to
about 162dB at 2 Hz; many of the most profound effects of sound are
attributed to infrasound in the region of below 13Hz and above or equal
to 7Hz. This corresponds with the median alpha-rhythm frequencies of the
brain. It is also commonly alleged that this is the resonant frequency
of the body’s organs and hence organ rupture and death can occur at high
intensity exposures.
Video and Audio Analysis
Video: none
Thermal: none
Camera: none
Audio: anomalous sounds captured.

Experiential Analysis
None of the investigators had any personal experiences that would
suggest a brush with a ghost or any other paranormal activity.
Curiously, and something to note, is that one of the attendee’s became
curiously frightened toward that end of the investigation and had to
leave the building. He would not come back into the building. We are not
sure why this happened as all was going fine throughout the entire
investigation and he was completely involved during our tests.
Conclusion
Based on the data collected and the experiences during the
investigation, we feel that there is not enough evidence to say this
facility is haunted.
We are concerned about the DR Lounge with its constant high electric and
magnetic fields of over 3 mG. According to IEEE and the World Health
Organization prolonged exposure to extremely high EM fields can have
severe effects within the following areas:
• cell growth
• reproduction
• pre- and post-natal development
• bioelectric activity of isolated neurons
• behavior
• cardiovascular functions (acute exposures)
• the blood-forming system and blood
• immune system functions
According to the Society for Physical Research, prolonged exposure to
high EM fields can also cause feelings of uneasiness, and create a
“being watched” or spookiness feeling.
While the EVP captured in the facility are interesting, they do not
indicate the facility is haunted as EVP can be caused from many things.
It is important to point out that one EVP did seem to be in direct
response to a question. As we did get an EVP that appeared to be in
direct response to a question we would love to reinvestigate this
facility at a later time.
We strongly suggest to the manager of the facility to seek out an
electrician to repair the high EM leaks in the DR Lounge. We feel that a
lot of the spooky feelings might disappear when this problem is fixed.
