Cantonement FL, Residence 001
December 2, 2007

Prelude:

The client contacted us because of her sister who was living in the family house by herself and experiencing problems consistent with the paranormal. The house was built on top of an old military airbase in 1968 and featured it's own hanging tree.

The owners took a metal detector to this 7 acre lot and found bricks with the name Gonzalez engraved on them. They also found broken plates, and other broken artifacts throughout the lot. The artifacts are now in the TT Wentworth Museum in Pensacola Florida.

The father passed away in the house in 1997 of cancer

Reported Activity:

The mother was involved with the occult and seemed to relish the activity of the house.

Extreme coldness around the oak tree.

Some of the activity that the sister experienced was a dread or an extreme fear while in the back rooms. She also experienced an inky blackness that would cover those area of the house.

The owner has experienced odd smells, apparitions, cold spots, objects moving and orbs flash in the rooms.

Within the last year alone several sightings of a man have been seen. Strange smells still exist. The feeling of people staring at you and strange noises are still heard. There are two areas on both ends that are very active.

The sound of a child playing can be heard much muffled. Voices of people who are not there. Sometimes they whistle loudly. The sound of doors closing and some type of bells ringing can also be heard.

Baseline Readings:

NOAA Planetary K-Index: 1 kp*
NOAA Geomagnetic Field: ~80 nT**
*K-indices of 5 or greater indicate storm-level geomagnetic activity.
**Research done thus far shows there is a direct correlation between paranormal activity and the strength of the of the earths geomagnetic field.

We experienced one extremely large 60HZ EMF spike during the investigation. The spike went from .3mG to 75mG. This spike was not repeatable and was not predictable. This occurred in the master bedroom of the house around an interior wall. Our investigation of the wall showed that there were no wires internal to the framework and nothing that should have created such a spike. The ambient em of the house was between .01 and .05mG at 60HZ.

Also of note was a steady .05mG “stream” that we were able to follow from the master bedroom leading out a North window to an area outside about 100ft from the house. Survey of the area showed that there were power lines above, but were not constant. Historically, Cantonement has buried most of their power lines due to storms.

There were no temperature abnormalities to note.

Another factor we looked at was resonance frequency of the house. The rooms of the house and general structure of the house was not conducive of a resonance problem.

A little about resonance frequencies: "Infrasonic frequencies are felt as vibrations which, if intense enough, may result in feelings of nausea, vertigo, hallucination and eventual black-out or internal hemorrhaging".

Resonant frequency is how many times per second sound travels between a cavity and returns to its starting point. Resonant frequencies for some areas are calculated at an adjusted room temperature of 72 F with the following formula: (1131.743 f/s) / (2 * Cavity Width (in feet)). Note that the 1131.743 feet/second figure is the speed sound travels at in room temperature and frequencies below or near Alpha brain wave (< 13 Hz) are of concern.

Experiential and Observational Analysis:

Late into the investigation some of the investigators were sitting in the living room of the old house with the client, and they all witnessed the aroma of cigar smoke.

One of the rooms that we walked into still had extremely bad storm damage and had severe mold growing from the roof.

Conclusion:

At this time there is not enough supporting evidence to suggest the house is haunted. Although there was some anomalous data collected during our investigation there is not enough data to support is.

We captured two anomalous noise episodes on recorders. One has been discarded since the general clarity of the recording was subpar. The other was kept, but by no means does an evp suggest a haunting as there could be any number of reasons an evp was captured. The evp that we did keep does sound as if it was a direct response to the investigators question, and in this case we give is a Class A classification.

Due to the lack of hard evidence we can not say that this location is haunted. While we believe the client is having the experiences he says he is having, we just did not capture anything at that time that would lead us to label the place as having an active haunting. Paranormal events are unpredictable so we do suggest that more investigations be conducted at the location to further.
