Fort Gaines
is rich in history and has had numerous deaths occur in its structure.  Visit historic Fort Gaines and read of the wonderful history of it.  Then come back here and read up on the suspected haunting's.  Oddly enough, very few of the deaths have been war related.  There are two suspected entities in Fort Gaines (possibly more but only two make themselves known).  The first is known as 'The Prankster.' As the name implies, that is exactly what he is. When he is around, things disappear, fall, fly, or just act weird - 1) During one of our investigations, our cameras kept getting turned off.  3) On one of the cameras, the battery came undone.  4) During a medieval recreation multiple tents kept falling down even though the owners knew they were fastened securely. 5) During a day trip outing to the fort my camera kept turning off and on. The prankster seems to have this wonderful affinity toward electronics and different gizmos.  I would say an almost childish curiosity.  The prankster is very interactive and from reports tends to do commands.  He is said to have a tendency to follow people home.

The second entity is what people call the dark vortex.  That is all we know it by.  It tends to stay in the bastions of the fort but does roam the fort grounds.  Photo's of it are typically in the appearance of a shadow or dark area typically human form.  Kind of like a person is standing but hid by a ton of shadows so all you can see is the form.  It appears to just stand and watch.  When entering bastions people have mentioned that it feels as if they are being watched and followed and typically leave the bastions quickly.  This entity does not appear to be very interactive like the prankster and  tends to just watch.

Dauphin Island Indian Shell Mound Park
Please read about it here then come back.  The haunting's at this park are to be respected.  In order to get to the mounds you will have to leave the path.  The mounds are kind of central to the entire park.  They are as hard to find as it is for me to describe their location.  Bring a compass, and head north from the main path.  At some point, I guess at about the 6 acre point, you will want to go east( rofl sorry).  When you see water you have gone too far.  The entities are multiple and traverse the entire scope of this island but tend to congregate here at the burial mounds.  Urban legend says that late at night, you can hear Indian music and singing.  Some witnesses have testified to seeing a bon fire through the trees with people dancing around it. In the depths of Shell Mounds, there is a clear circle surrounded by trees. This circle was the ceremony pit for the natives that are buried in this Indian Cemetery. On well-lit nights, you can see the female natives dancing to the sounds of their instruments.  It is said that upon entering the mounds you should introduce yourself and explain why you are there.  It is also customary to give a gift when visiting.  Upon leaving you should explain that you have to leave and  thank them for their kindness.

Fort Morgan
is Fort Gaines sister fort on the other side of Mobile Bay in Gulf Shores.  You can get more historical info of the fort from here and here.  There have been numerous tragic and war related deaths in this fort is considered to be one of the most haunted forts in the United States.  The fort and surrounding bunkers are haunted with numerous ghosts.  In the main courtyard people have witnessed dark shadows late at night walking the fort walls.  Lights tend to turn on and off by themselves and doors have a habit of slamming.

In the bunkers just outside the fort, you feel as if you are being watched.  There have been reports of people being touched and pushed while in the bunkers.  Numerous EVP have been collected from the site as well but some people hear the voices without need to record.  The outside bunkers are dangerous as jagged rusted metal is all over the place.  Make sure you wear a thick sole when walking  around the outside and be very careful about holes.  If you are pushed or touched in these bunkers, DO NOT show fear as these pesky entities seem to want visitors to be fearful.  One bunker has been closed to the general public and seems to be a hotspot to the site.  It is closed because of the pure danger it imposes to a person.  Giant holes, no hand rails and decaying walls are all a part of this magnificent structure.  Although you should not go into the bunker itself, I do strongly encourage any visitors to walk around the outside and take pictures inside.  On one of our visit there, as we were leaving we distinctly heard a voice yell, "no don't go!"  It's a shame our recorders weren't on at that time.

Sand Island Light House
read about it here.  Urban legend mentions that several tragic deaths occurred at this wonderful light house.  The legend is that one of the light house handlers was walking the cat walk when one of the hand grips broke and he fell to his death.  He is said to still walk the island smoking a rancid cigar.  There have also been many legends about ships hitting the island and sinking and the crews drowning.  No more info so if you have any please send it to us.

Middle Bay light House
read about it here.  Said to be haunted, but not sure of the exact story.  If anyone knows, please send it to us so we can update the site with it.
